International Airlines Booking
The history of Aegean Airlines goes back to the year 1987 when it was established by Aegean Aviation. The airline started operating as an air ambulance and also served VIP/Business travel. With further acquisition of Independent Air Operators license in the year 1992, Aegean Airways established themselves as the first airline in Greece to procure the license. The head office is at Kifisa in Athens.
Aegean is also Greek’s largest airline in terms of number of passengers. Being a member of Star Alliance since 2010, the airlines have their hubs at Athens International Airport, Thessaloniki International Airport, Larnaca International Airport and Heraklion International Airport. Currently the airline operates within Greece and also routes some international flights for other European destinations. Aegean was awarded ‘Airline of the year’ in 2009 and ‘Skytrax Top Regional Airline in Europe’ for the previous four consecutive years.
